We collect, use, retain, and disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, improve, and administer the Services; verify users and public records; process disputes; prevent fraud or misuse; and comply with applicable law.
We may collect account and contact information; identity-verification and transaction information; search queries and activity; device, browser, IP address, cookie, usage, security, and approximate location information; publicly available information from courts and government agencies; and inferences or record-matching information needed to operate and secure the Services. Public-record information may concern non-users and may be incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, or misattributed; users should verify with the issuing source.
Users may submit only authentic, lawfully obtained official public records (e.g., court judgments, criminal-conviction records, police reports, and protection orders) concerning domestic violence or sexual assault, subject to our six-year limit and legal restrictions. We may authenticate, redact, restrict, reject, preserve, or remove documents and may verify with the issuing agency; sensitive victim, survivor, witness, child, and address information may be withheld or redacted.
We and our service providers may use cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure the website, remember preferences, prevent fraud, measure traffic, diagnose performance, and understand usage, honoring legally recognized opt-out preference signals where applicable.
Where applicable, we process personal information to provide requested services and perform agreements; comply with legal obligations; for legitimate business purposes including verification, accuracy, and security; with consent when required; and as otherwise authorized by law.
We may disclose information as reasonably necessary to operate and secure the Services; process payments; verify identities and public records; prevent fraud; respond to disputes; enforce policies; and comply with law, including to service providers under appropriate safeguards and to issuing agencies and courts where applicable.
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the stated purposes and legal obligations and then securely delete or deidentify it; the six-year publication policy applies to eligible public-record content, subject to legal holds and compliance needs. Deletion from our Services does not affect records held by government agencies, courts, search engines, archives, or third-party websites we do not control.
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards; limit access to authorized personnel; require service providers to maintain appropriate security; and provide legally required notices in the event of certain security incidents.
Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy, withdraw consent, limit sensitive information uses, or opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or qualifying profiling, subject to verification and lawful exceptions.
The Services operate from the United States and are intended primarily for U.S. public-record information; international users are responsible for their local compliance, and we may restrict access from any jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 or permit minors to use the Services, and we will delete such information upon discovery, subject to applicable law.
